This is the key criteria the judges will be looking for. Make it look proper. \nLive Event Rules \n\nEach rider will have 2 passes to complete their best 5 trick line.\nEvery trick must be less than a 540 degree move\, no standard inverted or dangling (Raley) moves will be scored. It’s pretty simple; straight airs\, 180’s\, and 360’s only. No inverts\, no raleys\, no 5’s\, 7’s\, 9’s\, etc.\nOne of your 5 tricks must be a straight Method (no rotations – take off forward and land forward)\nRewind moves are allowed as long as the sum (360-180 = 180) of the spinning is 360 degrees or less. BUT\, keep in mind – The goal of Less Than 5 is to make wakeboarding moves look smooth and stylish … More is not necessarily always better\n\nAthlete Info \n\nThere will be 20 athletes – 16 invited riders and 4 qualified riders via the online qualifier\nAthletes will be placed into heats – 4 heats of 5 riders. The top 2 riders in each heat will advance to finals.\nFinals will be 8 riders\n\nScoring Criteria: \nFor the Live Event – The 3 expert judges scores will count for 100 percent of the judges scoring/placements. \nTies: \nTies will be broken by the riders’ combined (sum of judges) method score. The tie breaker will go to the rider with the highest method score. \nReviewing Scores: \nThere will be no whining or protesting of scores. \nHeat Seeding: \nAll seeding for the 2023 Less Than 5 event will be based on previous placings and the opinions of the Alliance Wake Team and random industry insiders who we think are smart.
